On Thursday 16th of July, we will return to Caz Reitop’s for an evening on the topic of Science and Magic.

Science and Magic

Some dismiss this topic at first glance. Why place magic into dialogue with science? Surely one is real; the other fantasy? What value could there possibly be in exploring a philosophy of science and magic?

For the ontologically adventurous, the epistemically curious, and the skeptic alike…

Runtime

  • 5.30 - Doors (Gather upstairs in the cocktail lounge)

  • 6.00 - Start (take your seats at 5.55pm downstairs in the Vault)

  • 8.00 - Event End

  • 8.00 - Onwards: Optional speakeasy upstairs in the cocktail lounge. (There's a separate standup comedy event downstairs at 8.30.)

HOW THIS WORKS

In this format of Underground Philosophy, you will take a seat as an audience member in front of a small stage in the underground vault beneath a cocktail bar. Your spoken participation is optional, but throughout, members of the audience, as well as long time members of the Voicecraft network and invited guests, will rotate places in dialogue on stage, facilitated by the host on the evening.
