On Thursday 18th of June, we will return to Caz Reitop’s for an evening on the topic of Archetypes and Egregores.
Archetypes and Egregores
What are archetypes and how do they influence our perception and action in the world? What is the difference between archetypes and egregores? In what way can we draw on philosophy, psychology, anthropology to inform our understanding of these concepts?
And can they help us understand our world and the evolution of culture today?
Egregore: from the French égrégore (“spirit of a group”), from the Ancient Greek substantive of ἐγρήγορος (egrḗgoros, “wakeful” or to "watch"). A concept in Western esotericism of a non-physical entity or thoughtform that arises from the collective thoughts and emotions of a distinct group of individuals.
Archetype: derives from the Latin noun archetypum and the Greek noun archétypon, meaning "first-molded". It combines two Greek roots: arkhein / archē: meaning "beginning," "origin," or "first place". And typos: meaning "model," "pattern," or "type".

HOW THIS WORKS
In this format of Underground Philosophy, you will take a seat as an audience member in front of a small stage in the underground vault beneath a cocktail bar. Your spoken participation is optional, but throughout, members of the audience, as well as long time members of the Voicecraft network and invited guests, will rotate places in dialogue on stage, facilitated by the host on the evening.
