Live in Melbourne
Underground Philosophy is where thought comes to life. On Tuesday March 17th we will return to Caz Reitop’s for an evening that engages the critical topic of Totalitarianism.
Through altered states of conversation, Underground Philosophy connects Melbourne’s thinkers, artists, and seekers.
The shadow of totalitarian impulse appears thinly veiled across the world today. But what exactly is totalitarianism? How does it show up psychologically, culturally, politically? How do mechanisms of control differ today in comparison to those of twentieth century regimes?
What rights, values, and cultural forms are we called on to emphasise in this time, so that we might defend the potential of a more vital, resilient, and wiser culture?

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Tim Adalin - Philosopher and founder of Voicecraft
Tim is a philosopher with a focus on participation and transformation. He is interested in questions of metaphysics: what is; what knowing is; and what it means to care and value. Psychedelics were a prominent part of his early philosophical journey, and have remained part of the constellation of his interests.
In 2017 he founded The Voicecraft Project, an endeavour toward creating contexts where conversation is capable of addressing the heart of what matters in the real of modern life, in touch with the depths as well as the times. He believes that revitalised and reimagined forms of civic participation are crucial to the loving transformation of relationship between psyche, culture, and nature.
Underground Philosophy is where thought comes to life.
Here we resist the capture of algorithms and dissociating ideology. When we come to Underground Philosophy, we come to connect and experience thinking you can feel—philosophy with soul.
